#EveryT-shirt Fashion LLC As a very pale person, unless I am taking a very quick dip before I flee back under my umbrella, I will not take off my protective T-shirt before swimming. Of course, I am not swimming laps where a shirt would slow me down or affect my strokes. If I was, I would wear a surfer type top called a rash guard. But besides my severe case of paleness, I am no longer in my prime swimsuit years. It is best for everyone involved if I wear a T-shirt while swimming or lounging. Looking around, I see that many people follow my lead. Being in or near water can result in a quicker burn than merely being outside elsewhere. I had a swim instructor who taught in a rash guard and long leggings. Ask the pool what is permitted. There were numerous men and women at that same community college pool who took swim lessons in modest clothing. There were a few women who wore ankle length leggings and a rash guard with a modified hijab swim cap. When we had cold temperatures after the dome was removed from the pool, a classmate who normally swam in a regular one piece suit wore a wetsuit. I wished that I had one on as well with 55F air temperature and a cracking wind. The heated water only made it minimally bearable while we were in motion, but to stop for instructions was miserable. The obvious answer would be: use sunscreen and reapply it throughout the day. Most of you are going to say “duh”…that’s not exactly groundbreaking news!
